T-minus three days...

As of Friday at 3 PM, I am on vacation for two weeks.  I am trying desperately hard not to absolutely phone it in at the office, which is difficult.  A lot of my upcoming projects haven’t really started yet and won’t likely kick off until after the New Year, which leaves me with not just a whole lot to do.  I have been asking people if they need help with just about anything, and inventing tasks to do when there is nothing else.  I finally have something that will keep me busy for most of tomorrow, which is good because I’m about to go out of my mind.

I can’t wait to have time off.  I’m going to clean the apartment, do about a zillion loads of laundry, enjoy the holidays with my husband and our families, and get some serious writing done.  Oh, and have some Snufferitas and cheese fries with one of my BFFs in town for Christmas.  Can’t wait!

I capitalized on my Christmas spirit last night and wrapped all the presents for Shawn while he was out of the house going to the grocery store.  He was a little too interested in the big brown box I brought home from Santamazon yesterday. I’m totally done with him, I just need to buy presents for everyone ELSE. Oy.

Christmas is my favorite time of year

So now that our Christmas tree is up, I am in the Christmas mood. Our friends’ Christmas parties are this weekend, and our holiday party for work is next Friday.  Then I’m off for two weeks and don’t have to go back to work until 2009 is underway. (then I turn 29 which I’m not going to think about right now)

I had my inaugural hot drink from Starbucks for 2008 today, and I got two more Christmas presents for my husband in the mail. I just want to go home, turn on Christmas music, turn on the lights on the Christmas tree, and put Meet Me in St. Louis on the TV to listen to Judy Garland while I wrap gifts.

I blame Kerri for the Judy Garland part.  And YouTube.

Urban Feast at the Angelika before Repo! the Genetic Opera. I saw the tiny champagne and I could not resist. Thankfully I DID resist the Holga cameras at the Urban Outfitters, although I still really want one. Christmas money!

Trying out Tumblr

I decided that I needed some kind of aggregator-slash-miniblog (not to be confused with my microblog on Twitter!) so I thought I would give Tumblr a try. It does have an iPhone app after all!
